This policy explains what information haljankowski.com collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Hal Jankowski, CPA.

What I collect

Information you send me. If you use the contact form, I receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter. If you email me directly, I receive your email address and whatever you include. Please do not include Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, tax returns or other sensitive documents in the form or in email. Once we are working together, I will arrange a more secure way to exchange those.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the web server keeps standard logs, such as your IP address, the pages requested, the date and time, and your browser type. I use them to keep the site secure and to troubleshoot problems.

Cookies. The site does not set cookies when you browse it or when you send a message through the contact form. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not currently use analytics. If that changes, I will update this policy.

How I use it

• To read and reply to your message.
• To provide services if we decide to work together.
• To keep the site secure and stop spam. The contact form uses a spam check that runs from this site, without third-party tracking.

I do not sell your information, and I do not share it for advertising.

Who handles it

Contact form messages and emails are handled through a third-party email hosting provider. The site does not keep a separate copy of form submissions. I share information with others only if you ask me to, if it is needed to provide a service you have requested, or if the law requires it.

Links to other sites

The site links to my LinkedIn profile and to the Kentucky CPA license lookup. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

How long I keep it

I keep messages for as long as needed to respond to you and, if we work together, to keep appropriate business and professional records. If you would like me to delete a message you sent, ask and I will do so unless I am required to keep it.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I have from you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I will update the effective date at the top of this page.
